Real happy about the rosetta on the cappa I made this morning.
Right now I am using a preroasted coffee called Ottolina Classica which I like a lot. It is pretty cold outside so I am kind of reluctant about roasting. That means opening the kitchen windows to vent smoke, and in the process also the heat that makes my apartment cosy.
I really hope the Heartware I-Roast will turn out to be a good roaster. A recent review and resulting heated (there's that word again) discussion on alt.coffee and coffeegeek makes me somewhat unsure, but then again the reviewer didn't seem to have done a thourough job with his testing. It is strange that Heartware doesn't send out prototypes to the key people in the home roasting community, like Mark Prince, Barry Jarret, Randy G. and others. Those guys are super serious when they review a product and could definitely help to build some more enthusiasm (and trust) for the new roaster.
I don't think it is a good idea to not answer e-mail requests from customers either. That is not very professional. Heartware probably gets huge amounts of mail about every day, but they could at least send a standard response.
I've had some amazing personal news lately. That's why my blog has been kind of silent lately. I'll write more about it later. 11/17/2003 01:37:00 PM
