I spent some hours in my dealer's shop yesterday sampling shots and checking out equipment. They have a really nice Rancilio C10 that is on all the time so people can play with it and get drinks. Some hours earlier they had a former barista champ and his associate in the shop. They brewed espresso and did latte art while my dealer taped it. Through a temp probe they also evaluated the temp stability of the C10. It was very good. I don't recall the exact numbers, but it was way better than a Faema they had sampled which varied as much as 2 degrees celsius during the brewing process. I think the C10 only had small variations in tenth of degrees (celsius). Another cool thing about the C10 is that you can set the brewing temp individually for each group!
At the end of the session I watched as they repaired a solis master 5000 digital. They had to change the boiler, a very common maintenance on those machines, especially those getting a lot of use in an office enviroment or the like. 3/30/2003 04:31:00 PM
